Staff at The Ornery Reports never set out to be scientific pioneers, but who was it that said, “chance and accident often lead to great discoveries?”

If no one ever did, we will claim that line as we announce the world’s first leprechaun cloning.

Yes, readers of The Ornery Reports will have noticed by now that our little leprechaun mascot in the header has his own mirror image.

How this came about is one for the ages.

“It was nothing,” said researcher, Tony Hancock, with characteristic modesty. “We already had his gif.” (Editor’s note: Gif is either the leprechaunic or computer-photographic code equivalent of human DNA. “I just basically copied him in reverse.”

Mr. Ornery does not understand such complexities, but Ornery Reports staff have been in contact with various scientists here in New Zealand and around the world to announce our breakthrough.

Curiously, their silence has been deafening. We have reason to suspect that not only have they failed in such attempts themselves, but that they have been completely unsuccessful in attempts to even capture a leprechaun (apart from that obnoxious Lucky of Lucky Charms cereal fame)upon whom they can attempt to replicate our process.

This leprechaun cloning, following as it has upon the heels of the successful transport of images to and from the site and the creation of little boxes in various locations on the site has encouraged us to pursue other projects that we are not presently ready to discuss. All we can say is to watch presentation to the scientific journals.
